PURPOSE OF OUR TOOL & EQUIPMENT LIBRARY
Farming, especially on an island like Maui, requires a wide array of tools and equipment which can be both costly and space-consuming for individual farmers.
Our Tool & Equipment Library addresses this challenge by providing a collection of farming tools and equipment available for usage and borrowing.
This project reduces the financial strain on individual farmers and fosters a spirit of sharing and mutual support within our community. By pooling resources, farmers can experiment with different tools, reduce redundant purchases, and minimize their environmental impact.
The Tool Library strengthens the bond of the Maui farming community, as we work to ensure that everyone has access to the tools they need to nourish the land and feed our island’s residents.
HOW IT WORKS

BORROW
-
Tools are available by the week (minimum 1 week). Except the wood chipper, which is per day.
-
Maximum borrowing 4 weeks at a time; you can re-borrow afterward.
-
Note: Some tools require assistance—we operate the wood chipper, and can help with the Cub Cadet Tiller and Auger with 8” bit.
DELIVERY
-
MFSN delivers and picks ups tools directly to your farm.
-
Pick-ups and returns occur on designated Fridays except the wood chipper (Wed, Thurs, Sat)
-
12" Wood chipper: MFSN provides an operator and brings the wood chipper to your site for the day. Please note that the truck is currently 2-wheel drive.
PRICING: YOUR CONRIBUTION
The small tools pricing is offered on a donation basis to keep it accessible for all Maui farmers. Your contribution helps sustain this program.
However, wood chipping is available for a minimum of $250 per. Additional days are $250 each. Operator is included.
