FARM'S STORY
Kaupolina o Popoiwi is a family subsistence farm founded in the 1980ʻs. Operated and managed by longtime Kaupo resident Auntie Linda Doman. This family farm provides subsistence for Auntie Linda's family of six, ensuring their fresh vegetable and leafy green needs are met, while also providing bananas, papayas, and other tropical fruit. They share farm abundance with other residents of this ultra-rural community. Grounded in a deep sense of place and family, and driven by Auntie Linda's commitment to self-sufficiency, this operation is a testament to aging in place, and to community resilience. This farm is not just a source of food for Linda and her family, but a lifeline connecting generations in a remote and close-knit community.
