Dave Pollmiller grew up in the sprawling suburbs west of Kansas City, Kansas. Always a nature kid at heart, he spent a fair amount of his youth totally infatuated with fishing in ponds and romping around in creeks just a short bike ride from his family’s home.

Dave moved to Maui, Hawaii in 2013 longing to experience other parts of the world. For him, the way into Maui was working on organic farms. The farm life came naturally to him and from 2013 until now, farming and gardening is all he’s done. 

In 2020 Dave started an edible landscaping business in Maui called Harvest Garden Hawai’i LLC. The focus of this business is to serve Maui’s homeowners with growing healthy food at home mixed in with, or replacing, “traditional” ornamental landscaping. Since 2023 Dave has been obsessed with incorporating native Hawaiian plants into landscaping. He started a commercial plant nursery in 2023 as well which now produces over 100 species of plants, most of which are native to Hawaii. 

One of Dave’s favorite things in the world right now (besides a good dance party) is meeting new plants that he has only read about or seen pictures of. Especially those endemic to the Hawaiian archipelago.
