FARM'S STORY
Hale Aka Farm, nestled on the gentle slopes of Haleakalā in lower Kula, is a family-owned farm led by second-generation farmer Elizabeth James Johnson. Deeply rooted in the rich agricultural heritage of Maui, Hale Aka Farm is dedicated to revitalizing abandoned pasture lands. Today, the farm is in the process of restoring these landscapes and establishing long-term agroforestry systems. By integrating native trees, diverse crops, and sustainable practices, Hale Aka Farm is building a resilient, diverse ecosystem while providing fresh, local produce to the community. Elizabeth’s vision is to create a farm that not only nourishes the land but also inspires future generations to steward the environment with care, creativity, and hope.
